Communicate 4.3.1 The Synchronous Session Quest


Through the use of discussion boards instructors can encourage a classroom community with the use of asynchronous tools. Communication can also be synchronous in an online classroom. Instructors can set up office hours where students can turn to their instructor to get real-time help. Teachers can use face-to-face chats to give individual feed back or to facilitate a community.  With American Sign Language, synchronous communication is going to be a valuable tool. Not only for fostering a sense of community but for allowing for real-time feedback and guidance.
