Create 1.1.1 Time Management Quest

There are several tools that can be used to help online instructors manage their time more wisely. In the article "Thirteen Timely Tips for More Effective Personal Time Management", the authors describe some tools that I already use to manage my time, and some new ways that I will try.

Some of the tools I am currently using to manage my time are goal setting, prioritize, and creating a "To Do" list. I find that these tools help me to get a good grasp on the things I needs to do without forgetting them. For me, prioritizing ensures that all of the items on the list are accomplished, not just the most preferred items.

Some of the tolls that I am not currently using but would like to employ are considering your biological prime time and conquer procrastination. Understanding that there are certain times of the day in which I am the most efficient and effective is one aspect of time management that I have been neglecting. Knowing that 8:00 when I have just finished putting the kids in bed is a hard time for me to start a large physically draining task will help me to better manage my time. It is better to schedule cleaning the garage in the morning when I am physically able to devote the proper amount of time and energy to the task. Procrastination is a learned skill. Through the years I have procrastinated and still managed to complete the task at hand. Each time that I procrastinated and still managed to get an "A", was a reward for me. I need to let that go and realize that it is more emotionally draining to wait until the last minute, worrying while I pull an "all nighter", than it is to complete a task on time without the added stress of waiting until the last minute. I think these tools will help me to become happier, healthier, and more creative.
